About NISEKO

Kutchan and Niseko are blessed with an abundance of nature including Niseko Annupuri, the main peak of the Niseko mountain range extending from the Sea of Japan, and Mt. Yotei, also known as Ezo Fuji. The area is also famous for its plentiful farms, which have prospered since the Meiji pioneer era thanks to abundant water sources from the heavy snowfall. One of the greatest features of Niseko is that the ocean, mountain, nature, and city are all within driving distance. It’s the perfect place to enjoy outdoor activities, fresh local vegetables and fruits, wine, locally-brewed sake, and other treats in a truly unique atmosphere.

Charm of the Niseko area

Accommodations are abundant and varied, including hotels and condominiums, hot spring inns, cottages, and backpacker lodgings. No other area in Japan is home to such a large collection of condominiums (nearly 330 in the town), with detached types (villas) equipped with kitchens and appliances for a comfy stay, and hotel types (condo hotels).

Although Niseko is famous as a winter resort, many people don’t know that it is actually a popular summer destination as well. Surrounded by lush greenery and separated from the noise of the city, Niseko is the perfect place to kick back, relax, and enjoy some quiet time.

Held record

Chosen as the venue for the G20 minister of tourism meeting, Niseko hosted 20 countries from major economies as well as high-ranking local government officials and other bureaucrats.
